Corollaries to becoming agent-native
People already prefer conversational interfaces to websites, and I have a feeling the trend will continue to develop.
This fact seems obvious when stated plainly, but many of the implications are yet to be fully explored.
One of these is that we will probably have developers whose job is to expose tech-enabled services to agents, the same way we have developers whose job is to expose the same services through websites.
We might call these "agent developers", the same way that we have web developers right now. Their job would be to expose business logic to agents, the same way web became critical to nearly every workflow.
There are very few agent-native companies right now. Cohere might be one.
Regardless, I think it's not so clear what agent development consists of. We're discovering that together. Still, it's an exciting time for tech, where a technology shift will once again change how we all interact with computers.
