Sunflower

Schlep Blindness

Schlep blindness is a concept created (or at least popularized by) Paul Graham, who wrote about it in his essay, aptly titled "Schlep Blindness".

In it, he posits that there are a vast field of startup ideas that we are essentially blind to, because they are so difficult that no one would even think to undertake them.

Sunflower is not one of these businesses.

Everyone knows that, eventually, the system for AI-assisted market activities will be built. It is simply too economical not to create. What, then, differentiates Sunflower?

It's probably the willingness to endure schleps. What are the things that I am willing to do that no one else building is willing to do?

I think it's this: manually call up / visit / pitch businesses to join the marketplace, with the promise that they'll get high quality leads as a result.

The most valuable thing that Sunflower can do as an MCP is make fuzzy information more available.

That means, we solve generative engine optimization; we get people to install the MCP, because it genuinely helps them book results and get valuable work done.

Trusted professionals. Vetted. Sunflower.
